Development and performance evaluation of a cowpea threshing machine

A cowpea threshing machine was designed, constructed and evaluated in the Department of Agricultural Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria. The using locally available materials with primary aim reducing drudgery attached to traditional method cowpea. consisted hopper, unit, cleaning outlet a single phase electric motor. based on varied operating speed 450rpm, 550rpm 650rpm moisture content 13.5%, 14.5% 15.5% respectively. results showed that efficiency increases increase feed rate decrease content. An optimum level 94.4% observed at 13.5%.
